Being Woman Gathering 2012

The Women behind the Festival..

Rene Bahloo

Rene Bahloo is a weaver, a teacher, a learner, and an artist.

She weaves with the fibre of flow and meaning, spiraling ever outwards in order to manifest beauty and joyful wellbeing, like a spider spins her masterpiece.

She invites others to gather in community, teaching cultural skills and sharing the active meditation of basket weaving, in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Rene’s passions stem from her life-altering experience of Australian Indigenous culture in Arnhem Land. She loves and lives women’s business, environmental connectedness, creative perspectives, the weaving of conscious, joyful communities and the magical journey of life.

These passions have led to a Doctorate in Creative Arts, where she will complete a synergetic novel based on Indigenous culture, women’s business and weaving journeys to wisdom. Her goal is for us all to weave our world into a better place, to weave ourselves in healing and wellbeing, to weave our environment with passion and purpose.

Tamara

HI My name is Tamara and I was called to Being Woman 1st Circle even before this years event. Reading through this year’s first circle women’s profiles online, I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of. My soul was being called and at the closing ceremony as the basket was walked around, the final call came, my heart raced and everything willed me to step forward… and its been one of the best decisions of my life! I attended BW 2011 as a gift to myself for my 30th birthday, I wanted to do something sacred to celebrate and welcome my blooming 30′s!

I feel passionately that we as women, owe it to ourselves and our communities to cultivate our ‘mature feminine’, to stand grounded within that energy while welcoming, stepping into and trusting our ‘mature masculine’ for our own inner support, direction and purpose. With that divine balance in place, we can then birth the divine child within and live from our hearts, with innocence, wonder and awe…of the life we are creating….. However this is not an overnight process, and it is a process, and with the love and support from fellow women on the journey, there is nothing stopping you but yourself.

When I look into the eyes of all women on earth I see divine goddesses radiating back at me, and my wish for all women who attend BW 2012 is that they see the exquisite beauty, wisdom, and peace that they bring to this world.

A bit about me….I came to this earth spiritually aware and have been practicing energy work, healing, channeling and mediumship to varying degrees for over 8 years, after finally saying goodbye to the corporate world for good. I am an Open Source Channeling Graduate of the Treadway Esoteric Channeling School, and I have also studied extensively in the fields of Body Spin, Reiki Sacheim and Crystal Therapy. I am constantly refining my craft and evolving my offerings to be of service to all that are called to work with me. My focus is always on the client and helping them become clear about their truths and assisting them in their soul’s desire to find their own path and ultimately empowering my clients to their own inner guidance (higher self) & inner healer. At the end of the day you are the best book, best teacher and best guide, best healer that you have here, and when you can truly tap into that powerhouse within, your life takes on a whole knew level of juiciness that can not be describes with words!  I am known for my courageous nature, compassionate heart, love and passion for all of life and all things natural including mother nature, raw living food nutrition and grass roots of parenting, relationships and life transitions. I live in Sydney on the beautiful northern beaches, with my beautiful 3yr’old daughter, we love exploring nature, dancing up a storm at drumming circles and kirtans and spending time with family.

Being Woman has gifted me in so many ways and for this I am truly grateful, I look forward to welcoming you into the sacred space of transformation and unity, creating love, peace and oneness, and I am honored to be holding space for you and our fellow sisters of the journey of returning to self. Namaste.

Patricia Gonçalves

My name is Patricia Gonçalves and I am 29 years old. I come from Sao Paulo, Brazil and I’ve been living in Australia for 5 years.

I am grateful for being in this magical land that has deeply shaken my spiritual path.

I came across Being Woman only three days before the event took place.

After a turbulent relationship I found myself sitting in ceremony with a powerful new moon in Pisces.  I asked her to help me find myself to grow, to become a real woman.

A woman that has love and respect for herself.  A woman who is truthful to her self, that knows her values and what she stands for.  A woman who is aligned with her intuition and knows how to listen to her heart.

Three days later, a good friend to took me to Father Tibrogargan one afternoon to help me deal with the emotional pain of making so many around me hurt.  On the way down I saw the poster for BW hanging in a coffee shop and I felt really attracted to it. I Googled it and realised that Grandmother Moon was about to grant my wish.

The experience was life changing. So many revelations, deep journeys and immense healing took place at that beautiful event.

I was drawn to join the circle but my never stopping mind didn’t allow me to. Three days after the gathering I was called in by beautiful indigenous women who came to me in my dreams to heal me. The next day a huge red dragon fly came to me from nowhere in the middle of a congested road in Brisbane to confirm that I needed to join the circle, because this experience would be life changing.

Now here I am open to this amazing journey which is about to happen . . . and now there is this beautiful little soul in me , which will be arriving the same month that BW 2012 . . . sublime timing!

I’m a mental health nurse and I’m passionate about the potential the human mind has . . . literally infinite!

Teachings of the Indigenous people , the connection with earth and the mysticism surrounding us, holds a profound fascination for me. I have always, without realising it, been guided by higher divinity.

I am looking forward to sharing my experiences, my knowledge and my love in the sisterhood of Being Woman. I fully trust the Universe in guiding me to this life changing experience and am hoping that I can help other women who have come from self-destructive backgrounds, as I have, to find their true path and a deeper understanding of themselves.

Love and Light,

Patricia Goncalves

Gillian Rayner

I attended Being Woman for the first time in March 2011.  I had recently moved to Maleny (QLD), and I missed my established friendships. Attending this gathering gave me a sense of instant community and sisterhood.  A long cherished wish to be with Aunties and women elders was fulfilled.  Stepping up to first circle is an inner calling. I see this as a sacred duty: weaving the web or our oneness.  I bring my love of embracing all that we are: casting light on the shadows and unloved within.  I bring my passion for tantric inner union.  I bring my love for and dedication to community, our children, future generations, and co-creating Heaven on Earth.

My study and work in the past 5 years has been in the area of Steiner Education, working as a Playgroup Leader and in a Steiner Pre-school.   My experience as a student teacher showed me just how early “issues” start, and this led me to my current studies in Holistic Counselling, with Sophia College.

I am dedicated to the inner work of wholeness and sharing this with others.  I am a Tantric Heart Practitioner: a modality that works with bringing our inner masculine and feminine dynamics into wholeness.  I am also a reiki practitioner and love working with crystals. In my spare time (when I have it!) I enjoying crafting handmade jewellery.(www.facebook.com/Alchemical.Threads.Designs)

Dana Mynard

Hello, my name is Dana Mynard – I’m 42 years old and the mother of a wonderful daughter who’s 12… my cultural heritage is a mixture of British and Sicilian.

I attended Being Woman for the first time in 2011, and at the opening ceremony Mother Earth asked “Come on Dana, are you ready?”  I said “Yes!” and felt that in my heart absolutely – which led me to being one of 9 women carrying the basket for 2012 Being Woman.

Since leaving an unfulfilling conventional lifestyle in Melbourne in 1996 and moving up to Northern NSW, life became more of an inner journey – with me completing a 1 year Rebirther Therapist Training and learning to live with the light via a deeply spiritual life.  I also had my first experience of living communally, ashram style, during that time – which was both challenging and intimately fulfilling – sharing my deepest inner journey with those around me.  I still choose to live in community now, where we have a commitment to authentic sharing and love.

Hello, my name is Dana Mynard – I’m 42 years old and the mother of a wonderful daughter who’s 12… my cultural heritage is a mix

My life as a woman and relating to women I have found to be challenging, I admit – and it has taken a long time to feel as though I truly belong in the realm of women.  I’m hoping to deepen that sense of belonging and deepen/awaken that innate sense of sisterhood and connection to the earth.  I am enjoying journeying with the 8 other beautiful women who felt called to step forward this year.

I am passionate about bringing the essence of the feminine into the world where it is integrated into society in a way that nurtures the whole – where it is understood that women’s business is as important as profits and where society has a place for women that enables them to parent and do their work in the world – where there is a balance of the masculine and feminine that is healthy and harmonious.  I think that traditional societies teach us a lot in the way they live in regards to these matters.

My passions are music, singing, empowering birthing practises for families, spirituality, nature, creative expression, community, sexuality and creating beauty and supporting these things in others.

Currently I’m working at starting my own business with event management, creation and organisation of workshops and music events that inspire beauty and positive change for the planet. I enjoy working with women, using voice and sound and connection to their feminine essence.

Marnie Collins

I am on the First Circle committee for the 2012 Being Women Gathering. My decision to step up for the First Circle comes from my desire to be involved in giving back to the community and to be involved in creating an amazing, transformational event in 2012.

For me going to Being Women 2011 gave me so much and I want other women to share in my experience.  I have a natural ability for energy clearing and creating sacred space in a variety of settings which makes people feel protected.

I have been on my own personal journey for the past three years and am committed to living consciously from my heart space. Honest, open communication is the key to my approach along with an infectious laugh. In my personal time I love cooking and spending time in nature both near the ocean and rainforest.

Beau

Hello Grandmothers, Mothers, Aunties, Sisters, Nieces and Daughters.

My name is Beau. I am a 33 year old woman, of British and Aboriginal descent. I am a mother to 6 beautiful daughters. 15, a baby born still who would be 14 this year, 11, 9, 5 and 2 years old. I live with my daughters and my partner Chris in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

I am a mother, birthworker, dancer and proud woman of the Earth.

I was strongly drawn to attending BW 2011. I had seen posters for the two festivals prior but hadn’t been drawn in. This time however, I kept seeing the posters everywhere and I just felt so drawn in, I had to go!

I had such an amazing time there. It actually changed my life. It bought me out of myself and helped immensely with my healing and learning. It helped me to see how I really want to live my life, with honesty, love, joy and a deep need to honour being woman.

I was pulled into first circle….guided, led, pushed…something like that. By who or what I do not know, but I listened and here I am. I feel very proud to be a part of something so beautiful and so powerful.

Being a mother to daughters I feel a strong and powerful calling to learn and grow in such a way that shows them and teaches them to be their own true divine selves. To be empowered and to honour and love Being Women! To allow the divine feminine in ourselves to blossom.

I am learning to love and accept myself just the way I am. The process is sometimes painful and scary but as I age and grow it is becoming clearer to me that I am just as worthy as everyone else of being loved and loving with my whole heart.

We are all sisters, all around the world and I am in awe of all of you. The strength, power, integrity and passion in women astounds me. We can learn so much from each other, through our wisdom and through the sharing of that wisdom.

I feel so passionate about the human race awakening from our slumber..accepting each other, loving each other and treating each other as equals. We have been so unaware of our oneness. So caught up in ourselves that we haven’t been able to ‘see’ each other. That is now changing and I am so excited to be alive in this time!

I honour whatever journey that you are on. and invite you to come along to Being Woman 2012. It is definitely going to be a powerful year and an equally powerful festival.

I send you love sisters, and hope to meet you there.

Kimberley

Hi my name is Kimberley and most people call me Kimba which I like. I have 3 beautiful children ages 2, 4, 6, and a generous loving husband. I am currently studying certificate 4 in Remedial Massage and I also love to do Reiki. We have recently moved to the country onto a lovely acreage with lots of gum trees, a fruit orchard, lots of natives, flowers and different plants, surrounded by many magnificent mountains. We also have 5 geese, 5 chickens, 5 guinea fowls, 2 dogs a cockatiel and a new Shetland pony.

My Being Woman journey began this year when I stepped out of my comfort zone a week before the festival and registered. I knew in that moment that I was going to have transformation in my life. The Being Woman festival was a very nurturing, loving, non judgmental space where I could share my most inner deep feelings, where I could cry, laugh, scream, sing, dance and have a beautiful woman or women be with me.

I am committed to help create the 2012 Being Woman and I am going to continue the loving, sharing, fun, non judgmental space in a natural environment and I will be with all the woman so they can have their transformation or whatever it is they feel.

Ninindi Johnstone

As one of nine Being Woman first circle women, I welcome you to come join us in the next upcoming 2012 Being Woman Festival.
I was at the last Festival, and I felt very drawn to making a difference with this one.

As a healer and facilitator of workshops myself, I am looking forward to putting my own creative input into the Festival.

I am a mother of five gorgeous children. When I stepped up for first circle, I did so because there were other amazing mothers with young children, who had already stepped up. And knowing this, I felt like we could take this next festival to a whole new level, with our nurturing intent.

The gifts I have to offer you with my intent, is a healing journey filled with melodic sound. To sing and to sound you into a space of glorious feeling and transformational change. For you to be held in a sacred space, where you feel comfortable to expand and energise your being.

My vision for this next Being Woman festival, is to nurture you with lots of nature. Group outings, and an intent to manifest unconditional change within you.

I hope you relish in the thought of coming to our next festival, and may the light of refreshing intuition guide you here.

Love,
Ninindi
